APPlicator for iPad music and photos

Applicator iPad Switch DeviceThe APPlicator is a brilliant iDevice accessory and we’ve just added it to the catalogue on Special Needs Toys.

I’m a big fan of the APPlicator because it gives the user switch access to music playlists and the camera on the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch as well as switch access to adapted apps used in education or home use.

It works with:

  • iPad
  • iPod Touch 4th and 5th generation
  • iPhone 3GS, 4, 5 and 6
  • iOS 6, 7 and 8

Get in touch for more information on the APPlicator and how it works in music and photo modes.

Excitim’s YouTube Channel

It’s now, just over a year since Excitim’s YouTube Channel launched showing videos of our switch adapted and accessible toys as well as interviews with parents and professionals.

Today I checked the viewing stats; altogether they have been viewed over 3,800 times.

Most watched is an interview we did with staff and parents at Kool Kidz Play Group, Parkfield School, in Birmingham and shows kids learning through switch adapted play.

Project Natasha – switch accessible sailing UPDATE

In 2011 I blogged about Project Natasha; it was all about adapting a radio transmitter with Sipp and Puff switches to enable Natasha control a model yacht and develop sailing skills. It was a big success!

Follow this link to the story on the BBC website: and read about how Natasha went on to sail solo around the Isle of White on September 9th, 2012

Natasha, who started sailing when she was 12, has so far raised £8,224 for Isle of Wight Scope, Cowes RNLI Life Boat and the Ellen MacArthur Trust.

She said her next challenge would be the Atlantic, which she described as “my ultimate dream”.
